What is HydraFacial?

A peel treatment carried out in two steps: deep cleansing, peeling, pore extraction and serum infusion. It clears away stubborn make-up, excess dead skin cells and the darkening and plugs in your pores, leading to clearer-looking skin. It has a refreshing feel that conventional chemical peels do not, and people tend to come back for more once they have tried it.
Using a stream of water containing active ingredients greatly reduces the risk of dryness and irritation. It also uses a machine approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, which makes it reassuringly safe. A special tip gently removes excess sebum and dead skin cells and washes out dirt from deep in the pores. It suits every skin type, whether dry, oily or acne-prone, and needs no downtime. You can wear make-up immediately afterwards.
It became a talking point in overseas media and among Hollywood celebrities, and since arriving in Japan the number of models and entertainers using it has grown rapidly. It is a popular peel treatment with a large following.

Our clinic uses the latest HydraFacial machine, the HydraFacial Syndeo.

What makes HydraFacial different

A patented design that detoxifies the skin from the surface to deep in the pores
HydraFacial combines resurfacing, peeling, cleansing, moisturising and serum infusion in a single session. A patented spiral tip creates a vortex of water that cleans deep into the pores, clearing away pore darkening and plugs. While the skin is bathed in solution, unwanted surface cells and built-up dirt are gently lifted away. The tip's unique shape then suctions off the loosened sebum and dirt along with the pore debris, leading to strikingly clear, smooth, fine-textured skin.

A serum peel that is gentle on the skin while still delivering results

HydraFacial's greatest strength is its soft peel, in which a solution rich in active ingredients is pressed against the skin. Because the skin is moisturised and softened by the serum before peeling, strain on the skin is kept to a minimum and the dryness peels often cause is avoided. The active ingredients then sink readily into skin and pores that have been thoroughly cleared. Alongside the usual peel effect, you also get moisturising, greater firmness and a brightening effect.

What is the Massage Peel?

The Massage Peel is a new kind of peel that can reach the deeper layers of the skin.
It acts on cells in the dermis to renew them and encourage collagen formation, so you can feel your skin becoming firmer and more elastic.
Conventional peels are harsh for Asian skin, whose outer layer is thinner than that of Westerners, and redness and peeling were common.
With the Massage Peel, however, hydrogen peroxide means the epidermis is barely damaged and there is little risk of the skin flaking away.
That makes it a peel that suits thinner Asian skin, and people who found conventional peels too harsh can usually have it.
In a Massage Peel, a qualified medical practitioner massages the solution into the skin. Between the solution and the massage, the skin looks more lustrous right after the session and fine lines become less noticeable.

What makes the Massage Peel different

  • In a Massage Peel, a solution containing trichloroacetic acid (TCA), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and kojic acid is massaged into the skin, so that right after the session the skin looks more lustrous and fine lines are less noticeable.

Repeated sessions also bring the following benefits.

    • Your skin looks clearer
Kojic acid suppresses melanin, which helps your skin look clearer and addresses concerns such as dark spots, dullness and melasma.
    • Your skin becomes more elastic
Trichloroacetic acid penetrates the dermis and stimulates collagen production, which makes the skin more elastic, firmer and more lustrous, and helps with wrinkles. Collagen is said to continue forming in the dermis for several months after a Massage Peel. This sustained collagen production can also make pores, stretch marks and skin tears less noticeable.
    • Improves acne scarring
Because the treatment encourages skin renewal, it also helps with acne scarring. Unlike an ordinary peel it does not strip the epidermis, so it is easier to tolerate for people who developed redness or heavy peeling with conventional peels.
