A treatment in which a preparation of botulinum toxin, a natural protein extracted from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, is injected to improve wrinkles.

Botulinum toxin weakens muscle action, so it can be expected to improve expression lines caused by the contraction of facial muscles, such as those between the brows and at the corners of the eyes.

Injecting before those lines become set also helps prevent them.
While it specialises in expression lines, it can be used for a range of concerns, including a square jaw, stiff shoulders and tight calves

In this treatment it is injected into the underarms to suppress the sweat glands, improving excessive sweating and the odour that comes with it.

The preparation used is Nabota, approved by Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and the US Food and Drug Administration.
